Advanced RNA-Based Pesticides – Formulation Development Internship

Are you passionate about plants, and proteins? Join us for an exciting 2-3 week internship focused on developing RNA-based sustainable pesticide products for agricultural pest control. This project integrates molecular biotechnology with protein chemistry, exploring how proteins can be harnessed to create eco-friendly pesticide formulations.

In this hands-on internship, you will learn about using different combinations of provided peptides/proteins to enhance the RNA delivery into plants.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform phytotoxicity assays using provided proteins.
  • Formulation dosage optimization for enhanced RNA delivery into Tobacco and Potato plants.
  • Maintain plants in the greenhouse and assist in the experimental setup.

Beschreibung des interdisziplinären Teils des Projekts
This project combines molecular biotechnology (for RNA synthesis & delivery) and agricultural sciences (for pest control and plant care). Students will engage in both scientific research and the application of lab-based technologies in the greenhouse setting. By working in an interdisciplinary team, students will experience how different approaches intersect to address a real-world agricultural problem.
