Lighting up Ammonium transporters in Pisum sativum: GFP-Based Cloning of Ammonium Transporters in Pisum sativum
- Beschreibung
How are ammonium transporters localized in plant cells – and what can this reveal about nitrogen uptake in plants?
Ammonium transporters (AMTs) play a significant role in nitrogen acquisition and plant nutrition. In this project, the localization and expression of AMTs are studied using GFP-based cloning approaches in Pisum sativum to better understand their function in plants.
Students will work on cloning AMT genes into GFP and transforming them into plants. The work includes molecular biology techniques such as PCR, plasmid construction, and basic analysis of expression patterns. The project provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in molecular plant biology, plant in vitro culture and to work independently in a research setting. It is aimed at students with an interest in plant physiology, gene expression, plant tissue culture and laboratory-based experimental work. If you are interested in investigating the function and localization of AMTs in Pisum sativum with GFP this offer is for you.- Projektzeitraum
